About Mexico City
I've been to Mexico City a few times now. Most times for pleasure but a few for business. It's always been a very mixed bag. Streets can go from very touristy to seedy quickly, and even knowing the language doesn't guarantee you uncomfortable situations. That said, this particular trip was great fun, particularly when I left the city to explore the ancient ruins a short ride from the city.
There is always something going on at the Zocalo. Sometimes its political manifestations, sometimes cultural, but always something.
If you're of the adventurous eater type, Mexico City has beef from every part of the cow for you.
I was able to get out of the city on a day trip to the ruins at Teotihuacan. The weather wasn't as hot as the previous days and it was surprisingly empty, I felt like I had the whole archaeological park to myself at times. Highly recommended!
Entrance to the ruins. Kind of a hot day but not many tourists.
Clear summer day made for a pleasant outting outside of the busy city.
I am glad I was able to carve out time to explore outside of Mexico City. Aside from the one or two questionable bars I was at, I had a good time coming back to this city. I think next time I come back I'll continue to press on outisde of the city in search of new things to do and see.
